Kiss is an acronym for Keep It Simple Stupid and poker at the basic level is a simple game. For the new and casual player if you want to have a chance of success playing, the best thing to do is carefully choose the hands to play.
The players that decide to play every hand delt to them, is doomed to fail. The players that play alot of hands from any postition, also will not do well. However the player that waits for stronger cards to play, will do much much better.
What hand to play? Check any poker book or magazine and they all have the same answer. Stick with the top ten hands and you will improve your game. Your lucky to get 10 playable hands in an hour of play, so you will be folding alot, but when you are playing good cards you have a much better chance of winning the hand. Just the simple fact of playing a high card with a high kicker card will help greatly.
We should all have a goal of being a consistant winning player, and if your not, you might just be playing too many poor hands. The simple stratgy here will assist in that goal.
