We (EightOrBetter) will be switching to Poker Stars for our November O8 league. We will have 2 tiers. A $5 buyin and a $25 buyin. $5 buyin players can earn points by playing in $5 or $11 tournies. $25 players can earn points in any league game. Sign up by replying to this thread with which league or leagues you wish to be in. Funds are to be shipped to AJB444 on Poker Stars.
League schedule is as follows:
15:00 CST - $5.50 PLO8
19:00 CST - $11.00 PLO8
20:30 CST - $55.00 PLO8
21:30 CST - $22.00 PLO8
These will run every day. On Wednesdays we will play limit O8. On Thursdays we will play mixed O8.
As we grow we will try to get higher buyins but this is it for now.
Point system
We want to keep it simple. We want to reward quality play but also the idea is to play OFTEN and promote the game so volume should be a key factor as well. You only receive points when you cash. No points will be awarded without cashing.
Formula: x = (y*a)/z
Where x = pts, y = # of cash positions, z = finish position and a = buy-in
Example: 5 cash positions and a $75 entry
1st – 375 pts, 2nd – 187.5 pts, 3rd – 125 pts, 4th – 93.75 pts and 5th – 75 pts
This system is weighted heavily toward winning and higher buy-ins but also rewards volume play.
Only your top 10 scores each month will count. We don't want volume to be the only thing that wins. We want people that don't play 7 days a week to have a realistic chance as well.
