Typically no. I encountered this problem on Stars when I first started online. Generally the site will tie your account to whatever affiliate you used when you register the account. The best thing you can do at this point is uninstall the software, delete your browsed history (including cookies), and reinstall and generate a new account name through the affiliate of your choosing. Most sites will let you do this if you havent put any real money into play yet. Shop carefully. Many sites (generally all except PokerStars) offer rakeback. Make sure you are getting the best available deal. Let us know where you're planning on playing and perhaps we can help.
