Ok I will be this first to ask a question to get this great idea rolling.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around to see or hear it, does it really make a sound?

Here is another one for you.

If a woodchuck could chuck wood how much wood could a woodchuck chuck?

Dear Skippy,
I found a Playboy in my sons room under his mattress. Should I:

A) leave it there and act like I know nothing

B) should I take it and put a Runescape Cheats Magazine there in its place

C) should I give it to Ref and have check it and make sure its ok

D) should I put it back with a bunch of folded toilet paper inside

E) replace it with a current Penthouse?

I am in a dillema here so any advice you give me will be great!
A concerned mother ;)

I'm not skippy either, but an adult who looked at playboy an adolescent. ( and still do  )

How old is he? If he's a teenager then just let it be. I would let Ref know so that he can bring up a discussion with your son. You don't want to make a big deal about it because that will only make him uncomfortable which could cause him to avoid you and Ref he needs to talk about important teenage things. It's completely normal for teenage boys to want to see the naked female body. It's also something that a teenage boy would rather discuss with his father or older brother rather than his mom.

This is just the reason why AK is a bad pre-flop all in hand, or any time for that fact. More often than not people put too much faith in AK. While it is a good starting hand it is better to just raise pre-flop then push all those chippies in the middle. I have done it numerous time with much the same results.

Cheer up there are better days ;)

You can't fault anything wrong you did in this hand. other than the outcome. At that point in the tourney you really needed to double up and moved all-in with a strong hand and got unlucky going up against a stronger starting hand. You were never ahead at any point so its not a bad beat, just bad timing. Next time you might hit that str8 and win vs trips. It can be a brutal game at times, but good solid play with win out in the long run. You are definitely not alone when it comes to bad beats, and the better player you are the worse and more often the beats seem. Good Luck.

You just have to realize that bad beats are going to happen. If you get deep in a tourney, odds are that you won some hands you shouldnt have to get there. Just take a deep breath and move on, dwelling on a past hand wont do ya any good.

good advice, but she was ahead after the turn...after the flop she had 4 outs and hit the jack, but then barron had 10 outs and happened to hit....classic suck-resuck.

actually they were in anyway as tex went all in and barron called. I would definitely not call this a suckout by any means. If they had been playing the hand by not going all in pre-flop and just betting through maybe I would consider it a suckout.

6 pounds beef short ribs, cut into 1-rib pieces
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 medium onions, chopped
4 large garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 cups dry red wine
1 (28 to 32-ounce) can whole tomatoes including liquid coarsely pureed in a blender
1 1/2 cups beef broth
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
6 (3 by 1-inch) strips fresh orange zest removed with a vegetable peeler
2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary leaves or 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crumbled
10 ounces pearl onions (about 2 cups), blanched in boiling water 2 minutes and peeled
1 (1-pound) bag peeled baby carrots
Finely chopped fresh parsley leaves, for garnish
Directions
Pat short ribs dry and season with salt and pepper. In a heavy 6-quart kettle, heat oil over moderately high heat, until hot but not smoking, and brown ribs in batches, transferring with tongs to a large bowl.

Add chopped onions to kettle and cook over moderate heat, stirring, until golden. Add garlic and cook, stirring, 1 minute. Add wine, tomatoes, broth, Worcestershire sauce, zest, rosemary, and salt and bring to a boil. Add ribs including any juices that have accumulated in bowl and simmer, covered, 30 minutes.

Add pearl onions and carrots, stirring and pushing down to make sure they are covered by liquid, and simmer, covered, 3 1/2 to 4 hours, or until meat is tender. Transfer meat, pearl onions, and carrots with a slotted spoon to a large bowl. Reduce braising liquid, if necessary. Return meat and vegetables to kettle and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through.

Stew may be made 3 days ahead and cooled uncovered before chilling covered. Reheat stew, adding water as necessary to thin sauce. Serve stew sprinkled with parsley.

Dear Skippy,
I was wondering if you can answer this question for a friend. He seems to think that a woman doesnt have a shot in hell of ever winning a TLB Title. Can you please explain to this person in the simpliest of terms (because I think he may be a wee bit slow) that it is not only possiable but that a woman can and will win a TLB Title.
Thank you very much
Cali :cheer2:

last i checked, women werent disallowed from winning the TLB, thus making it a possibility. There are a good deal of women who play here that i think are more than capable of winning, its just a matter of time.

I personally feel that a WOMAN has just as much of a chance at winning the TLB points as any man. They pay their $5.50 same as the men, just they usually leave the game before some of the men, me excepted, I try my best to either get a quick lead or get out fast. No sence in muding the waters.
