i have to tell you, I think this forum is getting a bit narrow viewed you might say. Whenever i visit the forum and click new posts, the topics always seem to be about a forum game, or a forum game announcement. Maybe a new person introduction.

Where are the discussions about poker. the hand histories that have everyone chipping in their two cents. The topic on Barney frank's legislation on recinding the US ban. The posts about bankroll management questions and about peoples tries into a higher level. The discussions about the tightness of games and the different tactics you see the higher in stakes you play. They simply don't seem to be here.

I have tried to do my part. The last 4 of 6 hand history posts were made by me, but no one seems to be interested in talking about the value of pot odds, implied odds or whether or not calling this or that is worth it when you have money posted. I think the most replies I recieved were 2.

The forum games are all good and many have a lot of fun playing in them, but poker is such a vast variety of interest and intricate parts there is so much that should be being discussed and it's not. Why?

If this forum is simply a place to discuss forum games, well there's nothing wrong with that, i just thought that when this new community was created there would be more substance, more variety. Maybe I'm too serious about my poker for this forum and as I don't play in forum tourneys there's not much for me to say in those posts, but it just seems to me there should be more to this community than a limited subject base.

Thoughts and opinions welcome.

SC, We'd LOVE to see more of what you're talking about. For the most part we only have a hand full of members that post on the forum and they're mainly MODS that set up our games. The forum is gaining more members daily and I think soon you'll start to see poker related topics and discussions. I think you'll find that a lot of people are scared to post on forums for a few different reasons. This forum is only a little over a year old and will only get better as time goes on.

Myself as well as many others here really enjoy reading your posts and blog entries and hope that you continue to contribute to the forums on a regular basis. You bring a lot of good information to the forum and it's greatly appreciated.

This is the reason I stopped coming here many months back. I however stumbled across this page in my bookamarks and figured I've give it another shot. Lets make this work mr.coast.

I agree with you SC. The thing is since I do not play much any more I don't have much to start off with. The whole idea is for the ones who do play to post their thoughts, comments, bitches, etc. for all to comment on. I too would love nothing more than to see these. I echo everyone elses comments about your posts. I have always enjoyed them and even commenting even before this place was even thought of. There are a lot of members who are still nervous about posting for fear that they may say the wrong thing because of past experiences or just because they are new to the forum scene. I would love to see some of the newer members views on playing style and so forth, but you can't force anyone to post, unless of course I could get away with cracking a bull whip:D.

This is the reason I stopped coming here many months back. I however stumbled across this page in my bookamarks and figured I've give it another shot. Lets make this work mr.coast.

I am so glad to see that you came back ooze. Tell us how things have been on and off the felt. ;)

Welcome back ooze. :)

As I said in the post above, it'll only take a few members to get the ball rolling and start discussing the things SC pointed out. Other members will chime in and see that it's not only easy, but there's a lot you can learn from other poker players and their opinions. ;)
